New Hampshire......

...was kinda sorta a washout. But, we made the best of it! Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures. Just snapped these few with my point & shoot. I wouldn't take my good camera out of the bag because the sky kept ripping open spontaneously without any warning. I wasn't chancing getting my baby wet! So I goofed around with Bailey instead!!! This pic cracks me up!

And here is the hubs and dear MIL with my Bailey! So the ride all the way up 93 was pretty clear and sunny. We pulled off in Lincoln because we knew there was a McD's right there and MIL and I really had to pee. I swear no sooner do we get in to Lincoln does the sky decide to open up. We go in to do our thing, come back out, and it had stopped. I got to snap this picture of the them, and no sooner do I press the shutter and the sky opens again. It pretty much did that for the rest of the day. We went in to N. Woodstock to check out the arts and crafts booths at Old New England Days Festival...looking for a parking space, no rain...park the car and get out, RAIN! WTF?!? So we head back to Lincoln to get on to the Kanc and head to North Conway. We figured we would stop at one of the overlooks and have lunch. A few miles in to the Kanc, sky rips open and it is a torrential downpour. We pull in to one of the overlooks...and have to eat in the car! Make the decision that instead of continuing on all the way to N. Conway we would turn around and head back to 93 to drive home (it is a much better ride than the road home from N. Conway). I kid you not that no sooner do we get on the highway does the sun start shining bright! At this point though we figured it best to head toward home. We did stop along the way at the Tilton outlets. There was a jacket Kevin wanted from Eddie Bauer. I sent him in to the store with his Mom and I walked around the parking lot with Bailey. The sun was blazing, it was humid, we were sweltering. So we figure at this point we are near Lake Winnipesaukee, why not head to Weirs Beach for a while. Can ya guess what happened as we approached Weirs Beach? Grrrrr!!! So my MIL, God bless her, says, "let's just get an ice cream!" Ice cream makes everything better. We got our ice cream then headed home. And now here I am. Looking back on the day I gotta laugh. And the bright side of the situation is I got to spend the day with those I love in an area I love. It was a much-needed change of scenery.

I love it up there in the fall way better anyway.

I love how Bailey looks! I used to have a Beagle named Barney... when I was little. He was not the best behaved dog, so we didn't get to keep him for long :( I'll say this, beagles have STRONG will power!

I am glad that you got to spend time with your hub and MIL. The weather can be so peaky but doesn't look like you guys had too bad of a time though. I wish I could take off on a long road trip!

Thank you for saying I have interesting days. You know what. It really doesn't LOOK as interesting as I write it, hehehe. After all that, I went out to edge my lawn, which had never been edged in 5 years so there was like 6 inches of overgrowth around the borders. After half an hour of pushing that dang edger/trencher, my legs were wobbly because I forgot you aren't supposed to have a gallon of blood drawn and then do something like that. Well, I fixed the problem with a Blizzard.

Is this weather just not the worst ever? It rained yesterday, and again today, and there is more rain in the forecast all of next week for us in Maine. UGH!!! When I lived in southern Maine I used to go to NOrth Conway all the time, even went camping there several times. And I love Weirs Beach. When I was young, we used to vacation in Laconia every summer. You brought back a lot of memories for me today. Here's hoping the sun will shine through soon! Hugs, Kathleen

Cute pup pictures. Sorry about your lousy weather. Hey, since I hear you are the ultimate scrapper do you know of any places where it's cool (temperature wise) for a scrap weekend? I was thinking that would be a fun thing to try!
