Sometimes I really don't get people...

I know I have been away from my blog for a few days and have some catching up to do. I was going to post a few pics from the weekend and talk about fun stuff. But I decided to post this first.

Sometimes I just don't understand people. I don't get why some people do the things they do. I don't get being dishonest and underhanded. I just don't get it! I guess that is why I tend to like my dog better than people!

Just a little background...my Mom and I and a bunch of friends attend scrapbooking weekends a few times a year around New England. It is called Cool Crops and is put together by two very cool, very creative women. They really do these weekends up great and don't charge outrageous amounts to attend. They have spent a few years building up this business in to something successful and something they can be proud of. In building this business they have built a very extensive email list of all of us who want to be kept in the loop of their upcoming events.

Last week they sent out an update to the list. They were using a new email server and in the confusion the email was sent with all of our email addresses visible rather than "blind copied." They caught the error right away and within a 1/2 hour sent an apology to all of us. And of course there was the hope that no one would use their list, their hard work, for their own gain. Unfortunately, with the immediacy of email, it was too late. Someone on the list, who is also a Creative Memories consultant, swooped in and promptly started sending emails to all of us trying to sell us stuff! What the hell?! Talk about sleazy and unethical! But the damage was done.

At that point all any of us could do was to reply to her email asking to be taken off "her" list. A few of us, in our haste, dipshit me included, hit "reply all" instead of just "reply" and now the whole thing has turned in to a big clusterfuck! And the thing that sucks even more is now I am getting emails insisting I take people off "my list." Great. So now I am having to email these people back explaining I am NOT the dishonest one. I don't own a business. I have no mailing list and have no need for one. I was a victim of this, too. But what a pain in the arse! All because this opportunistic bitch took what was not her's and what she did not work for. And in the midst of all this she refuses to respond to anything.

I know I am just venting. But I just don't get what people think they will gain through deception. Why do people have to be that way? It is bad enough that the world around us is so fucked up. Of course there are things much more important than this email fiasco. Still, I feel so bad for the Cool Crops girls. But even this small thing is part of a bigger epidemic of greed and deceit that our society seems to perpetuate every day and I just don't get why. What brought us to this point? Why can't people just do the right thing? Unfortunately, I know that expecting people to do the right thing is expecting far too much of many people.

Just another reason why I love my dog so much.

Sounds like somebody needs a good slap in the head.
This is why I stay to myself and try to keep my life simple and plain! I know that karma will take a big ol' bite outta her ass but damn it, why do inocent people have to be hurt first.
People are so ignorant!!

Oh, that would make me SO mad! And the thing is...she just sent her name out to how many scrapbookers who are going to tell people to NOT buy from her! That was just dumb!

I'd love to know about that crop, group, though! I can rarely do weekend events and such, but I would be interested in checking it out if new people are welcome!

Ugh I hate how drama has to get in the way of a good thing sometimes. Why can't we all just scrapbook in peace lol? Hang in there as this will all blow over. Thanks for stopping by.

That was so rude!! Why would she think that you or anyone else would buy anything from her...and then to not respond to anything...hmph! Hopefully she learned a lesson...probably not but one could hope!

I HATE THOSE PEOPLE! But in this economy, people are desperate to make money they will do anything and everything. I still think it is underhanded and she totally took advantage of that situation for her own gain. Not nice. No. That happened to me once, with a ceramic painting place. I just decided to send them all to spam.

BTW, welcome back, dear friend! Did you find that picture I took just for you on my blog?

*HUGS*
