Camera dump...

I just posted today's photo to my Project 365 blog, 365 Daze to 40 , and decided to share the few that didn't make the cut over here. I used my new lens that I talked about in the previous post. I am going to love this thing! I have been fascinated for quite a while now with bokeh . It had been popping up on blogs quite a bit recently, especially over the holidays as Christmas lights lend themselves so well to bokeh. I attempted it when we had our tree up but the other lenses I have were just not quite right for it. Since I was itching to use my new lens, and the Christmas stuff is long since put away, I took advantage of the one thing we have a lot of around here: laundry! I know I know...weird photo subject, but I am all about keeping it real!

Here are a few of the many shots I took. I deleted quite a few but decided to upload these in addition to the one I chose for my other blog because, though I clearly have a looooong way to go in learning what I am doing, they were not a bad first attempt and there is at least a little something in each of them I like.

I really like this one! Though my intent was to focus on the bottle of detergent I somehow focused on the pile of towels instead, lending a bokeh affect to both the foreground and background of the photo.

This one was a little more what I had in mind, though I didn't want the whole bottle in the shot.

Eh. The bokeh is there. It's OK, I guess.

I like this one, too, but the towels are still a little too much in focus.

I promise to find more interesting bokeh subjects for future posts!!!
:-)

Very cool...I have never heard of the term Bokeh...I have done some pictures with the Bokeh effect and didn't even know what it was called! LOL...I have a feeling I am going to learn alot from your blog!

Isn't it amazing how something as boring as laundry can be fun when you're snappin' away???! Love these shots!
