WOW...have I got something to tell you!!!!!!

I can't keep this to myself!!! I don't want to keep this to myself!!! It is way too exciting and I MUST share it with all of my readers!!!

goes LIVE on Monday 3/22/10!!!

What is WOW you ask? WOW is Words of Wisdom...Join The Conversation . WOW is the brainchild of two amazing bloggers, Sandy of It's A Jungle Out There and Pam of Pam's Perspective . I have followed Sandy's blog for quite some time and recently started following Pam after learning about her blog through Sandy. These women both write with such substance. Their posts make you think. You learn from them. You can really feel what they are sharing. It was Sandy's post about blogging (which was inspired by Pam's post about blogging ) that inspired my post about blogging .

Like I asked at the beginning of that post ...do people really blog anymore? Or are blogs just becoming one big commercial, overrun with ads, and reviews, and endless giveaways? Or is the whole "mommy blogger" thing taking over? Well, judging by the positive responses I received to that post (and the responses both Sandy and Pam received), the answer to the question I asked is YES! There are still people out there who blog for the joy of writing. They blog to share a story. They blog to make us think, and learn, and grow, and react. These are the blogs I want to read! These are the bloggers that I want to welcome to my blog!

I have joined SITS. I have done the follower memes. They are all well and good but I always felt something was lacking, though I have found some great blogs through these methods. Still, something was definitely missing. SITS no doubt caters to the "mommy blogger." And the follower memes seem to be dominated by those bloggers that want nothing more than to increase traffic to their blog to increase their chances of snagging the best PR and the best giveaways. I want people to follow my blog because they enjoy what I write, not because they want me to be a number on their follower list. And I want to be appreciated because I am NOT a "mommy blogger."

Does any of this sound familiar to you? If it does, then WOW is exactly what we have been waiting for people!!! So please join in!!! I know you will be happy you did!!!

And, please when you visit, be sure to thank Sandy and Pam for all the hard work they put in to just get this site off the ground and for the continued hard work they will put in to making this site the best it can be. And, oh yeah, please definitely stop by Monday. You'll see why...... ;-)

I leave you with these words from WOW, written by Sandy and Pam:

Words of Wisdom (WOW) is a place for bloggers who enjoy reading and writing great content to find each other. What exactly is great content? Great content is blog posts that are thought-provoking and/or insightful. Blog posts that make the reader stop and think and maybe even feel compelled to "join the conversation" by leaving a well thought-out comment. These posts can be serious or humorous. They can be about any topic. But what they have in common is content. Great content.

I have to say that I agree. The longer I am in this blogging world the more I see myself drawn to real women with real lives... not just the giveaways and ads (which I hate by the way). It is somewhat offensive to me when people follow me just to up their numbers and it is not why I blog. Thanks for sharing and the comments on my blog! I so appreciate you reading and taking the time to comment :)

Wow! I mean WOW! I totally agree with you about SITS! I joined and follow SITS for the same reason as I do WOW now but it didn't do anything for me. I would leave comments (genuine comments) and follow people (the ones I liked) and maybe 1 person has responded to me. I am loving your blog and will be following. Found you on WOW! hehe
