Ummm, yeah....seriously?!?

I live in New England. I have all my life. It snows. I get that. I really do. And I do my best not to complain about it because, well, I love New England and can't imagine living anywhere else.

We got yet another storm last night in to this morning. Another foot or so dumped on to the already three feet or so still on the ground from the previous storms. The three feet that has not been able to melt because it has been Arctic cold here.

But again, its New England. New England is in the northeastern United States. It gets cold. It snows.

Here's the thing, though. I don't live in rural New England. I live in a suburb of Boston. A pretty large, fairly congested suburb of Boston. We have nowhere left to put all the white stuff. The snow removal budgets of the cities and towns have been depleted. At the rate school is being cancelled the kids will be in school to July (not that that is a bad thing...). People are actually missing work (which rarely happens because we know how to deal with the stuff).

Anywho, it is what it is, right? So might as well embrace the beauty of it! The sun is shining now so I stepped out my door to take a few pics...

my deck...

another shot of the deck...

snowbanks at the end of my driveway...these actually are extending way in to the street giving the appearance that our driveway is longer than it actually is...

this is the case with everyone's driveways....our street has gotten so narrow from all the snow!

our front yard where you can no longer see our shrubs...

looking toward the side yard, which you can't really see over the snowbanks...

another shot of the snowbanks blocking the side yard...

snowbanks at the end of the driveway...

end of the driveway looking toward our neighbors...

snowbanks built up near the shed...

another shot of the deck from the driveway...

Crazy, huh?!?
Welcome to a New England winter!!!

I wish it would snow like that here. Once. And only once. And it must also be the only snow we get that year. AND it has to all melt the next day! Am I really asking too much? Enjoy your day off! MUAH!

While I too love and appreciate New England, this snow is getting to be a little too much! How long can this all continue for? We were lucky enough to avoid the storm last night (we barely got an inch), but I have a feeling there are a few more big ones headed this way before the end of this season. Plus, when it's all over, how much flooding are we going to have?! Eeek. I just want to get my garden going - I don't want to deal with soupy soil for an entire spring season.

Stay warm!

We got hit BAD in NY too! I think we have over two feet of snow currently... I'm not complaining though since I got a Snow Day today out of it :)

It's been unbearable! And getting downright dangerous with all this snow. We had to get a bobcat for our small condo parking lot because the snow plow can't maneuver with all the snow from previous storms.

It is so crazy!! I love it though...I don't mind it here because they are so good about clearing the roads and I can drive in it! However I am tired of it and I am ready for some spring weather...LOL...
