~* Bailey loving the snow, 1.12.09 *~
That is what I am doing this year. I am going to embrace the snow and cold. I know it sounds crazy. It is just what I have to do. As part of my journey to SHINE IN '09, I realize it is very necessary to eliminate negativity from my life. And around this time of the winter I usually start to get pretty darn negative about the snow and bone-chilling cold. This is as good a week as any to decide I am just going to accept the cold without bitching because it supposed to be downright frigid this week...like single digits with below zero wind chills!
~* Bailey has no problem with the snow! *~
The way I look at it is this...I have lived in New England my entire life. It gets cold in New England. It snows in New England. Winter is a part of life here, and it is a small sacrifice to make to be able to experience the four seasons as beautifully as we do here in New England.
Complaining and bitching about anything serves me no purpose. I don't need that negative energy in my life anymore. Now I am not going to get all Pollyanna on you and claim that I am going to be all happy happy joy joy all the time because I know that is unrealistic, and it is not me. But I am going to try my hardest to be as happy as possible as often as possible. And even if there is a time when I am not totally happy I am going to try so very hard to not let the negative thoughts take over. It. Serves. No. Purpose.

And, really, that fresh snow IS pretty. Bailey enjoys it and how can you not be happy watching a silly Beagle bounce through the drifts burying his face in the snow? And everyone is forced to slow down a bit, which is never a bad thing in this crazy world we live in. And everything seems quiet and still.

This is so true... of everything we encounter in our lives... find the positive, release the negative! That is why my word is HAPPINESS. I want to find happiness within all of this as well.
You are inspiring me to stick with my word for the year~Positive!
Just going to focus on the positive side of things, like you mentioned how cute Bailey is in the snow! That is certainly something to make a person happy! :)
Kristen I love the picture of the house down your street...with a tiny bit of cropping that would make a gorgeous postcard!
