Today is my Mom & Dad's 41st wedding anniversary!!! I thank God every day that these two fell in love and had my brother and me, because we were truly blessed to be given two such amazing parents!!! Their story actually goes back a lot further than 41 years, though. Actually it goes back 60+ years and then some! My grandmothers were best friends and grew up together. So my parents grew up together! I have never known a holiday or birthday or other family gathering where we had to spend part of a day with one set of grandparents and part with the other. All I ever remember is all of us, together!
My Mom & Dad married in the same church my brother and I were baptised in, the same church Kevin and I were married in, the same church my brother and his wife were married in, the same church my nephew was baptised in, and even the same church my grandparents were eulogized in. And all of these events, in this same church, were performed by the very same priest! I love that my family has this history.
As I have gotten older I have learned to appreciate my parents so much more than I did when I was younger. Lord knows I didn't always make things easy for them. I know I gave them many sleepless nights. Yet they never ever ever wavered in their love and devotion to my brother and me! My life is blessed in so many ways and they are two of my biggest blessings!!!
My parents, my best friends, my confidants and my protectors.
Happy Anniversary Mom & Daddy ... I love you both more than any words can ever say!

Kristen, Your parents are a beautiful couple. I love the church history your family is so blessed to have. My parents have both passed away, so I can tell you, enjoy your Mom and Dad while you can. I used to call my Mom 5-6 times a day, and I miss her all the time. And you, dear girl, are the sweetest, kindest person I have met in a long time. You are a blessing to all who come in touch with you. Hugs, Kathleen
Stopping by from NE Bloggers. Lovely story, but it's real life, too. Luck you, I agree!
