Happy Saturday!

Happy for lots of reasons!!! First, even though my birthday was officially yesterday I have decided that since it fell on a Friday it really is a birthday weekend. Anything to keep it all about me! I am such a brat! Anyhoo, this is the biggest reason why I am happy today...

This new little piece of wonderfulness is my new 50mm f/1.4 lens that I treated myself to with birthday money and gift cards!!! I have been coveting this lens for a loooong time!!! And now I have it in my hot little hands. And with the launch of my Project 365 blog, 365 Daze to 40 , yesterday this couldn't come soon enough. I am so looking forward to learning to use this lens and hopefully take some fabulous photos.

My birthday fun actually started Thursday! My awesome co-workers surprised me with a cake in the office during the day, then that night we all got together for drinks. Our friends Ed and Renee came with us, too, so I had a great night with people I enjoy. I may or may not have had a few six drinks that may or may not have left me feeling a bit hungover on Friday....

Friday, my actual birthday, Kevin took the day off so we could be together! We ended up sleeping in a bit...it was a late night! We had a nice relaxing day just being together. Just getting to spend the whole day with him and our little Bailey made for a great birthday! He gave me this ......

I am soooooooo excited!!!!!! I have wanted one of these for sooooo long!!!!!!! Soon there will be a lot more videos here on this blog! Hey! Maybe every now and then I will vlog instead of blog!!!

Friday night was spent with our family, the people we love most in this world! We had a FABULOUS dinner! My Mom makes this amazing seafood casserole with lobster, shrimp, and scallops that I love and she surprised me with making that. I was entertained by my sweet nephew, then he helped me blow out the candles on my cake. I love my family so much!!!

~* Father and son ... so sweet *~

Oh! And speaking of my brother, can I just brag about him for a minute?! The other day he was on the highway early in the morning heading to a job when he saw a guy, on a freakin cellphone, lose control of his car and flip over! He was trapped inside. My brother pulled his truck over right away and got the guy, who thankfully was not badly injured, out of the car by pulling him from the passenger side window! The guy wouldn't have been able to get out on his own. Thank God a spark didn't catch his gas tank or something! My brother was the only person to pull over to help. I have always known he is a hero ... now others do, too! I am a damn proud big sister!!!

In a few hours our friend Joe is coming over and we are all heading out to dinner together for yummy Greek food!!! Right now my sweet hubs is playing a new Wii game he picked up and I think I will go join him. Before I do I will leave you with these ...

Ohhh baby!!! Yummm!!!

Bow chicka bow wow.....

Happy birthday Kristen!

Wow, that is so cool of your brother to help that guy. In Missouri you can be nominated for Heroes Award. One of my parents just received it.

Your presents are awesome! I am wanting a flip camera too! Too cool!

Hope your day was wonderful!
