Q & A ... the answers!!!

Sorry it has taken me over a week to post the answers from the Q & A , but here goes!

Shore Debris asked:
What's the most memorable or most favorite restaraunt you've ever eaten in? Why was it so special and do you remember what you ordered?
Hmmm...this was a tough one for me. I am not a fancy restaurant type of person so there is nothing that stands out in that respect. And I am not a "foodie."  So I focused on what I considered my most memorable dining experience, and that would have to be the authentic Hawaiian luau Kevin and I went to on Maui while on our honeymoon in 1999. It was everything I had hoped it would be and more! The luau took place on the shores of Ka'anapali Beach, complete with low tables, Polynesian dancers, tiki torches, drinks in hollowed out coconut shells, and a whole pig roasted for hours underground. I wish I could share pictures but this was in my pre-digital days. As far as what I ordered, we both just tried a little bit of everything! It is encouraged and there were things we can't get here in Boston! We wanted the whole Hawaiian experience and we got it!

2busy asked:
Since I'm a new follower, how about some basics...
What do you do? Where have you traveled? Favorite food?
I work for a livery company as the lead reservation agent. But, I do a little of everything there. It's actually a fun place to work (usually) and I really enjoy most of my co-workers. It is close to home, my hours are great, and I can wear whatever I want! It's a good job. As for travel, I have been pretty much up and down the East Coast. Also Washington DC, OH, PA, NY, MO, TN, Las Vegas, San Fran, Napa & Sonoma. Tiburon and Sausalito, and of course Hawaii (Kauai, Maui, and Oahu). I have been to Montreal, Toronto, and Niagara Falls. I have been to Belgium. I have been to Bermuda, Grand Cayman, Cozumel, and Jamaica. My favorite foods are chocolate anything ;-), Greek, and Italian.

Tina asked:
Favorite nail polish color? and does your toes have to match?
How many ear pearcings? Lipstick or lipgloss? favorite moisturizer?
My favorite nail polish color is Wicked by Essie. I basically love deep dark colors: dark reds and plums, bronze-ish browns, even deep navy blue. And I never match my fingers and toes! :-)
I actually have nine holes total, five in one ear, four in the other, but I haven't worn more than one in each ear in years. I like both lipstick and lipgloss but I wear lipstick more often. My current favorite moisturizer is Olay Regenerist SFP 15.

Cheryl asked:
If you could save one scrapbook of yours, which would it be and why?
Great question! And way to stump me! How do I pick just one?!? :-) I guess I would have to grab my most random family album because it has a little bit of each of the people I love the most!

Karen asked:
Hi Kristen!- I have followed your blog for about 2 months and just love it! I love that you are so open and honest with your opinions and also that you truly share your thoughts and ideas! I hope this question isn't too personal but I was wondering about the MEEI pics on your 365 daze to 40 blog. I noticed underneath it you put "saved my sight"! Being the very visual person you are with your love of photography and scrap booking, I was wondering how you dealt with it. And my second question is : Do you have a hard time throwing out old magazines? I know I do! I love them all and refuse to let go of the Fall and Holiday Issues! Thanks Kristen for sharing- Karen from NH!
Thank you so much for you kind words Karen! And your question is not too personal at all. I don't mind talking about my eye issues at all. Maybe it will help someone! I have a condition in both eyes called keratoconus. It is a condition where the corneas are misshapen and get progressively thinner as the condition worsens. I have it in both eyes, but my right eye is much worse. Almost four years ago it had gotten to the point where I couldn't see clearly, so I had a cornea transplant done at MEEI. My vision will never be perfect, and some days are better than others, but I can see a hundred times better than I could four years ago! I just make it work, ya know? I have to, because as you mentioned, I am definitely a very visual person. As for your second question, yes I have a verrry hard time throwing out old magazines! And it causes quite the clutter problem! lol And I haven't yet figured out a way to cure this!

Amy . Amy Amy Amy. What are you doing to me?!  I had to save your question for last because how do I answer that?!? What is my favorite thing about New England? Or maybe I shouldn't have saved it for last because everyone knows I could ramble on and on and on for paragraph after paragraph after paragraph! Autumn. If I have to pick just one favorite it would be autumn in New England!

Well, that is it! Thanks for the great questions! This was fun!

WICKED is my favorite color too!!!

I have had eye problems too. When I was a child, I had lazy eye surgery. Thank God it corrected it. When I was in my 20s, I had optic neuritis in one eye. I was blind in my eye for 3 or 4 months. Plus being asthmatic has caused me to go on prednisone to open up my lungs over the years. That caused me to need cataract surgery in both eyes when I was 35. I have also just did the YAG laser surgery to remove the secondary membrane that can grow in 60pct of the cases of young people that had cataract surgery. So, I totally sympathize/empathize with people who have overcome eye problems/diseases.
