Sneak peek...

[Prima canvas pages, Tim Holtz masks, Adirondack Color Wash]

If you ever visit my Project 365 blog you may have seen this post where I gave a sneak peek of some of the products I plan to use in a new minibook I am working on about our gardening adventures. I haven't gotten a chance to work on it much, but I wanted to give another sneak peek of some of what I have done. Today I am going to show you the cover I made. I used canvas pages from Prima that are actually meant to go inside an album. I am using doing the opposite of what others are doing, so I am using these for the covers! I also used Tim Holtz masks, and Adirondack Color Wash. Let me show you what I did!

[misting "garage"]

First I put together this fancy-schmancy little contraption so I could spray the mist and just get in on my canvas and not all over my table and walls and floor and such. It is just a simple paper grocery bag, cut down the middle and then across the bottom. Nothing to it, but it really controls the splatter from the mist and can be used again and again and again.

Then I had to decide where I wanted to place the masks. They are clear but you can kind of see them in the above pictures. If you click on each picture and enlarge it they will be a bit easier to see. Masks are made of a plastic material with an adhesive on the back. It will stick over and over again so you can get almost endless uses from the masks.

Then I just place the canvas inside the misting garage...

...and mist away till I get the results I desire. You can see where the mist beaded up on the masks. All you have to do is dab that off with a dry paper towel. even if some stains it, it won't hurt the mask at all.

Once I removed the masks I was left with just the design. I zapped the canvas with my heat gun for a minute or so AFTER I removed the masks (do NOT heat the masks...they WILL melt) to completely dry and set the mist.

And there you have it!

More to come soon....

What projects are YOU working on??? Please share!

I love it!!!!
I am in love with that canvas! I have to Google and get me some.
The whole process seems easy enough for a scrapbook challenged person like myself.

Can you re-use those masks?

Very cute! Not much crafting here as of late. Maybe a home improvement project or two...

you are such a competent crafter!! other than my Dr. Seuss blanket, I've been very non-crafty lately.

Looking forward to seeing your finished product :-)
