Ummm, hi....June?!?!

Seriously?!? June!!! How the hell did it sneak up on me like that? Where is 2009 rushing off to?

Well, since we are at the half-way point of the year I thought I would take a moment to think back over the past several months and see if I have been living my word for 2009. I vowed on 12/31/08 that I would SHINE in '09. So how am I doing with that, you ask? I have to say I think I am doing really well!

Personally I have been pretty damn happy this year! Kevin and I are celebrating ten years of marriage in October and we are as happy now, if not happier, as the day we married. Our family is happy and well. I have some great friends in my life. I get to do things I enjoy. I do still have some health and wellness things I need to work on (not quite shining in that area as much as I would like to be) but it is OK because I know I can do what I need to do!

Professionally I am at a VERY good place right now. Lots happening (and I am not ready to share it all just yet) but it is all good. Sure, I wish for the day, somewhere down the line, where I don't have to work. But as long as I need to I am lucky to be where I am right now.

Creatively these past several months have been wildly exciting! I haven't experienced any real creative blocks for quite some time. I am learning new techniques and starting new hobbies. I am having a blast sharpening my photography skills and learning all I can. I love my blog and the opportunity it gives me to express myself in writing with so many people. I have always loved to write and take pictures and with this blog I can share that with so many more people.

Spiritually I have grown so much. My faith has always been a very private thing for me, and always will be. But I will say that this year I have allowed myself to grow deeper in my spirituality. I relish my time of meditation and prayer and reflection, and I know I have developed a deeper relationship with my God.

One thing I am very proud of myself for doing is I have kept up with my Gratitude and Positive Thinking Journal that I started back in January. I always have several journals going at once so I do tend to neglect some, but this is one I have been really diligent about writing in. And I think it helps. All of the entries are about gratitude and/or positive thinking and intentions. When I am feeling negative or withdrawn I can flip through the pages and what I have written over these past several months helps me to find my way back to a place of peace and...shininess!!!

I hope that 2009 has so far been good to all of you, too! And here is to the rest of 2009 being shiny and happy, too!!!

coming by to confirm that the Utz Cheeseballs are as good as the chips! I just noticed today that they sell a baked chip. I've gotta try that next time...

Thanks for continuing to vote. It ends at midnight on Friday so we are nearing the end! (phew!)
