We got our first December snow last night! It started around 5PM and lasted till sometime in the middle of the night. When we awoke this morning, before the sun came up, everything was coated in a blanket of fluffy white. I wish I had taken a few pictures before the sun started to melt things a bit. But it was still pretty. We only got about 4". That is a dusting to us New Englanders! We don't consider it a real storm till we get at least a foot or so.
Remember the three trees across the street from me that I love, the ones I incessantly took pictures of throughout the fall? I wrote about the progression they went through in this post,
Isn't it amazing the changes in just a month or so? And isn't the snow pretty?
This giant pine tree is in my side yard. I love when all the branches are tipped in snow! It is so Christmas-y!!!
I took these while looking up at a few of the big trees in our backyard. I just love the tangled mess of snow-capped branches!!
Remind me of how pretty I thought this all was when I am bitching about the snow come March!

Hi Kristen
I sent it your way, we just got a dusting too - I'm talkin' about 1/2 in but it sure made me smile!

It wasn't much...but it was enough to get us excited...even more so that it is melted before we have to go back to work! LOL
We got like next to nothing down here in Connecticut. I was so disappointed. None of it stuck to the warm ground!
How beautiful! I've forgotten what snow looks like, it's been so long. We rarely get snow here. If we're lucky, one minor snowfall a year.
I'll remind you about how thrilled you were with the snow in March if you will remind me about my happiness with it in May! Yes, May! That's when I expect ours to be gone for good. That is what happens when you live at the top of the US at the Canadian border!
I was happy to see that we were getting snow across Massachusetts, but I'm hoping Mother Nature gifts us with some more before Christmas. It just doesn't seem right without a full-blown white Christmas. I'm hoping we have one or two more proper - or even semi-proper - storms before then.
Love yours photos! Everything looks so exquisite. :)
I am so jealous! Our family just moved from KY to GA and I'm really missing the cold weather right now. You'll be surprised to know I'm originally from Hawaii! Shocking difference in weather, huh?
I loved this post. Beautiful photos. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. :)
Kristi, Hello...Is This On?
@TweetingMama
What a beautiful pictures. It makes me feel so Christmasy.
I might live in Canada, but no snow here. I love snow.
Such pretty pictures! We also got just a little snow last night (only 1 inch), but I'm loving it! :) Enjoy your pretty snow day!
Blessings,
Stacey
Oh Kristen it's just breathtaking and you captured it beautifully! Can you send some down to NC? We only get about one snowfall a year and it's teeny. He!
I hope you and yours are enjoying this joyous season! ~Melissa :)
Gorgeous, just gorgeous. Color me green. We have to settle for rain here in LA, and most people call in sick when it does!
LUCKY!!!!
I am so jealous! I want snow damn it!
I want snow, too! Just beautiful.
Kristen you seriously should consider putting some of those shots on some postcards or something...absolutely gorgeous!
GORGEOUS pictures! In Michigan we can get the same thing. I love it when the ice covers the trees (BUT NOT THE ROADS!) and the sky is so beautifully blue the next day!
Snow does make for some lovely pics - but I'll pass on the actual snow and just savor the pics!
Looks so pretty sistah! I'm loving my snow this year!
Beautiful snow!
Looks much prettier from the comfort of my warm, cozy home :)
Wow! So pretty! I wish we experienced even a little of that in So Cal...then again, I don't think any of us out here could handle the cold =)
