HAPPY mail!!!!!!!

OK, well I am not published yet, but I will be! I just couldn't find a button that said I am soon-to-be published!!! Yup! I got the letter today! This is my first time ever being published in a Gooseberry Patch book and I am so excited. This is a HUGE deal to me as I have been collecting their cookbooks for about 8 years now and have almost all of them!!!

Have you ever checked out a GBP cookbook? No? You must! Honestly, anyone that knows me would not think these are "my thing" at all. But they so are!!! They are quaint and homey and cozy. The illustrations are darling. And in addition to scrumptious recipes, all of which are submitted by their readers (many of my friends are published!), there are decorating tips, craft ideas, entertaining ideas, and seasonal memories. Everything I love in one book!

I will be published in their upcoming fall release Homemade Harvest. They will be publishing a story of my autumn memories! Now you all see why these books really are sooo me!!!

But more than just being a great read, these books mean so much more to me. It was through these books that I met the best group of friends I could have ever hoped to have! Kindred spirits with the same love of family and home, crafts and decorating, seasons and holidays! If I had never picked up that first GBP book in a local store all those years ago, which led me to their website, I never would have connected with these fabulous women, as we are scattered all over the country. Back then, GBP had a message board and that is how we all first met. After a time GBP decided to disband the message board feature of their site. Luckily by this time we had all exchanged email addresses. Then our wonderful friend Tina found a website where she could create a private message board and Girls Like Us, our little home on the web, was born! Fast forward 7 years and our little group has been through so much together: engagements and weddings, births and sadly deaths, illnesses, graduations, the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Most of us have met in person at one time or another. We all talk on the phone regularly. I can't imagine my life without them! And it all started in the Gooseberry Patch!

<--- if you look on my left sidebar there are links to all my GLU friends that blog...

I am not sure when the book will be coming out. Usually their autumn releases come out around August or September. You can be sure I will keep you posted!!!

Be sure to check out GBP's blog , too!!! And they are on Facebook!

On another note, I will be back tomorrow with the answers to the Q&A post !
